These 4-week lesson series are held on Thursdays, running from October 2 thru October 23.
- Collegiate Shag Lesson Series: 7: 30 PM – 8:30 PM
Come join Stanley and Binaebi for a high-flying, multi-week experience with one of the most energetic dances of the 1930’s: Collegiate shag. If you ever wanted to feel light on your feet to an uptempo beat, this dance is for you. We will take you from novice moves such as the basic and simple turns through some intermediate movements, all the while providing you the tools to craft an individual style.If you took our crash course in July, we will get to the topics we couldn’t cover in our two-hour time constraint! Be sure to bring water, for this going to be one SWELLtering of a time! - Lindy Hop Lesson Series: 8:30 – 9:30 PM
Build your lindy hop footwork, technique, and moves with Stanley Steers and Binaebi Akah in this class for dancers who are beginning or reviewing lindy hop. This class is definitely for you if you fall in to one or more of these categories:
- You have taken fewer than 3 lesson series or workshop weekends focused on lindy hop
- It is difficult to do more than a few lindy hop moves in a row (maybe you get behind the beat, or your footwork gets a little tangled up)
- You want to review the mechanics of lindy hop: how to make the basics work, how to communicate with your follow or lead
- You have never taken a lindy hop class before
