July 5 // 8-Count Lindy Hop Movements
We will be teaching a Crash Course for Lindy Hop. So come see what this vintage swing dance is all about. Kari and Shannon will give you the basics. You will learn some footwork and patterns to get you out on the dance floor and having fun. Whether you have taken a Lindy Hop class in the past and need to practice those skills, or have never tried it, this class will provide the foundations. It’s a reason this dance has survived since the swing era– come find out for yourself. No partner required! We are friendly social group and will rotate partners in class.
July 12 // 6-Count Lindy Hop Movements
6 Count Swing is often used together with 8 count Lindy Hop so that we can dance with more “swingy” syncopations. Come learn some 6 ct. swing to into your Lindy Hop. Or if you have not danced with us before, this is a great class to start. No partner required! We are friendly social group and will rotate partners in class.
July 19 // Charleston Foundations
Dan and Gail will give you a quick introduction into the basics and technique of Charleston. You will learn the basic footwork pattern for the dance that swept the nation in the 1920’s, and ushered in the Jazz Age. Come find your inner Flapper and get out on the dance floor and cut a rug! No partner required! We are a friendly social group and will rotate partners in class.
July 26// St. Louis Shag Foundations
St. Louis Shag is an energetic swing dance that came out of St. Louis in the 1930s and evolved from Charleston. No partner required! We are a friendly social group and will rotate partners in class.
What time does it start?
