This month, lessons will be taught by Mark Calkins and Shannon Varner.
These 4-week lesson series are held on Thursdays, running from September 4 thru September 25.
- Beginner Lindy Hop: 8:30 – 9:30 PM
Build your lindy hop footwork, technique, and moves with Mark Calkins and Shannon Varner in this class for dancers who are beginning or reviewing lindy hop. This class is definitely for you if you fall in to one or more of these categories:
- You have taken fewer than 3 lesson series or workshop weekends focused on lindy hop
- It is difficult to do more than a few lindy hop moves in a row (maybe you get behind the beat, or your footwork gets a little tangled up)
- You want to review the mechanics of lindy hop: how to make the basics work, how to communicate with your follow or lead
- You have never taken a lindy hop class before
- Intermediate/Advanced Choreography Creation: 7: 30 PM – 9:30 PM
If you have taken our intermediate workshops and looking to challenge your abilities beyond the lindy hop and charleston basics, this class is for you. This workshop is to help gear our scene for the 60 Seconds of Fame at the Rocktober Intensive Lindy Hop Workshop Weekend, right here in Columbus Ohio. In this class you will:
- Create and demo your own choreography, with Mark and Shannon’s guidance
- Not need a partner, but if you want to collaborate you’re more than welcome to!
